Lancashire and Yorkshire railway stations to benefit from ?1.9m investment

A substantial investment by [1] is poised to bring about a noteworthy enhancement in passenger comfort at 21 stations within its network.

As part of a £1.9 million initiative, the implementation of shelters featuring bench-style seating and wind/rain protection is slated for these stations.

The selected stations for the shelter installations, with some receiving one and others two, include , , , , , , , , Dale, Humphrey Park, Kildale, , , , , , , , , and [2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20]

The installation process, commencing at the end of February, is expected to conclude by early summer. It promises a substantial improvement in the overall passenger experience at these locations.

Craig Harrop, regional director at Northern, said: “Investing in upgrades to stations across the network is extremely important to us. Even small changes like installing a new shelter can have a big impact on our customers using the Northern network”.
