A former cadet hall in the centre of Westerham has sold at auction for £336,000.
The now vacant ACF Hall went under the hammer recently at Clive Emson Land and Property Auctioneers[1] and has potential for alternative uses subject to all necessary consents being obtainable.
The substantial property on the High Street is close to various local shops, restaurants, schools and amenities as well as the M25 motorway and also Sevenoaks with its wider variety of national retailers and other amenities.
Elsewhere at the auction, an attractive Kentish ragstone house in Headcorn sold for £324,000.
The property on 15 Kings Road can be easily spotted for its red brick quoining and ribboning and is located within a short distance of Headcorn village, adjacent to the Headcorn Primary School and Headcorn Library.
The house is currently in need of further improvement and redecoration but there may be potential to create off-road parking to the front of the property, subject to all necessary consents being obtainable.
Another interesting property that went under the hammer was a five storey mid-terrace period building believed to date from circa 1835 and previously used as solicitors offices.
Situated on 20 Castle Street, it sold for £292,000.
The building has some retained period features and some improvement works have been carried out including replastering of certain areas and the majority of the building has been stripped back.
Meanwhile, an attractive semi-detached house situated in a semi-rural location between Upstreet and Sarre just outside of Canterbury was sold for £251,001, allowing the successful purchaser the opportunity to redecorate in their own taste and style while another bidder successfully purchased a block of ten lock-up garages situated in the village of Hollingbourne in Maidstone for £100,100.
