Motorway police pull over car driving on M6 in Cheshire with smashed windscreen

A car with a smashed windscreen was caught on the M6 in Staffordshire - despite the driver's view of the road being almost completely obscured.

Motorway cops stopped the black Citreon DS3 travelling south on the M6. It had travelled through Cheshire and Stoke-on-Trent before being pulled over close to Stafford. Police say the driver had covered at least 70 miles before coming to a halt.

A photo shared on X, formerly Twitter, showed the glass had shattered across most of the windscreen.

The Central Motorway Policing Group wrote: "This car was travelling on the M6 south through @StaffsPolice in this condition for at least 70 miles = not acceptable. Vehicle has been prohibited and driver reported for using a vehicle in a dangerous condition."
