M6, M53, M56 and M57 motorway closures starting January 1

he M6, M53, M56 and M57will close over the coming week.

The motorways, which run through Merseyside, will see closures this week as National Highways continue to repair the region’s roads. This week there is one closure on the M57 on New Years Day, according to the National Highways journey planning tool.

There will however be no weekend closures on any of the regions motorways. Here are the motorway closures you can expect in Merseyside this week.

This list is subject to changes from National Highways.

Monday, January 1

The M57 northbound between junctions one and two as well as four and seven will have one lane closed between 9pm and 6am.

Tuesday, January 2

The M6 northbound between junctions 21A and 24 will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M57 northbound between junctions one and two as well as four and seven will have one lane closed between 9pm and 6am.

Wednesday, January 3

The M6 northbound between junctions 21A and 21 will have one lane closed between 9pm and 5am.

The M53 southbound between junctions nine and 10 will have one lane closed between 11pm and 6am.

Thursday, January 4

The M6 northbound between junctions 21A and 21 will have one lane closed between 9pm and 5am.

The M53 southbound between junctions nine and 10 will have one lane closed between 11pm and 6am.

The M56 eastbound between junctions 11 and 14 will have two lanes closed between 9pm and 5am.

Friday, January 5

The M6 northbound between junctions 21A and 22 will have two lanes closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M53 southbound between junctions nine and 10 will have one lane closed between 11pm and 6am.

The M56 eastbound between junctions 10 and 12 will have two lanes closed between 9pm and 5am.

Saturday, January 6

No closures
