Motorist towing fork lift truck charged over drink driving offence

The flatbed transit, which was towing a forklift truck, was seen drifting across the M6 northbound, narrowly missing other road users and was reported to officers yesterday (December 27) at around 2pm. 

A police spokesperson said: "Our officers stopped the vehicle, and the driver was subsequently arrested, providing a breath sample of 99, almost three times the legal limit of 35, once in custody. 

"Gavin Ellidge, 47, of The Ferns, Bacup, was charged with driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above the limit and bailed to appear at Blackburn[1] Magistrates’ Court on April 4."
