Live: M5 lanes shut at Avonmouth after multi-vehicle crash

Two lanes on the M5 at Avonmouth have reopened following a crash on the motorway. The closures were in place southbound between J18 near the Avonmouth bridge to J19 for Portishead.

According to traffic monitor Inrix, the collision took place on the bridge. Google Maps reported delays in the area and traffic cameras showed traffic beginning to queue in the area.

Inrix reports: "Two lanes closed due to multi-vehicle accident on M5 Avonmouth Bridge Southbound from J18 M49 to J19 A369 Martcombe Road (Portishead). Traffic is coping well.Camera shows lanes three and four (of four) are closed with three cars in lane four."

According to Inrix, the road had fully reopened by 8.10pm.
