Live A17 Washway Road updates as ‘serious’ three-vehicle crash closes Lincolnshire road
A busy Lincolnshire road has been closed for several hours following a 'serious' crash that hospitalised two, police say. The A17[1] Washway Road, between Holbeach and Fleet Hargate near Spalding[2], is currently closed in both directions.
Lincolnshire Police[3] reported a 'serious three-vehicle collision' involving a lorry and two cars this morning (Friday, December 29). A spokesperson for the force said the closure was expected to remain in place 'for some time' and asked drivers to avoid the area if they could.
Two people were taken to hospital for treatment following the crash. Traffic monitoring services Inrix and Google Maps are both reporting slow-moving traffic in the area.

However, traffic along the A17 on either side of the crash does not appear to be badly affected.
