Drink-driver more than three times the legal limit on Christmas Day
The incident occurred on the M56 heading westbound earlier today, Monday.
Officers from Cheshire Police’s roads and crime unit pulled over the motorist on the motorway.
North West Motorway Police says the driver produced a roadside breath test reading of 123 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal limit in England is 35 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath.
North West Motorway Police said: “A vehicle was stopped by a Cheshire Police roads patrol after been spotted driving on the M56 westbound.
“The driver blew 123 on the roadside breath test. They were arrested and taken to custody.”
The force also used hashtags on X, formerly Twitter, of ‘none for the road’ and ‘just not worth it’.
