TII Insists All Motorists Will Still Have Access To M18 Lay-Bys For Emergency Use

Transport Infrastructure Ireland insists that all drivers in Clare will still be able to use motorway lay-bys for emergency use.
A new TII draft policy document has proposed that only Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) and professional drivers will be permitted to use unserviced motoway and dual-carraigeway rest stops.
There are currently two lay-bys near the county border with Galway on the M18, however the TII’s intention is that private motorists will avail of their nearest motorway service station to take a break instead.
