Police stop car on M62 and find FIFTEEN people crammed inside
Police were left stunned after pulling over a seven seat car on a motorway – to find 15 people crammed into it. Traffic officers pulled over the black Vauxhall Zafira on the M62[1] in Cheshire on Wednesday believing it was overloaded.
But they were shocked to find there were more than double the number of legally allowed passengers inside – including children who were not wearing seatbelts. North West Motorway Police tweeted: “This vehicle was stopped by a Cheshire Motorway Patrol on M62 as the vehicle looked overloaded.
“They were shocked to find 15 people in the vehicle (including children), all unrestrained. Driver and unrestrained adults issued Traffic Offence Reports.”
Some on social media joked about the incident, with one user saying: “You should notify the Guinness book of records!” Another added: “They need to go on Britain’s Got Talent with that trick.”
But others criticised the adults who had allowed the children to travel in the vehicle without seatbelts. A concerned Facebook user said: “The aftermath for this vehicle in a serious accident would have been traumatising for the emergency services.
“How can the driver and other adults in the vehicle consider themselves as loving and caring and responsible adults and then do something like this.”
