M62 westbound has three lanes closed due to crash

Three lanes are closed on a stretch of motorway between J12 and J11, leading to Birchwood and Risley.

According to National Highways North West, there are 40 minutes of delays.

The highways agency posted on social media: "Lanes two, three and four (of four) are closed on the M62 westbound between Junction 12 - M602 - and Junction 11 - Birchwood and Risley - due to a multi-vehicle collision.

"Traffic Officers are on scene.

"There are four miles of congestion causing 40-minute delays above normal travel time."

Lanes 2, 3 and 4 (of 4) are closed on the #M62^[1] westbound between J12 #M602^[2] and J11 #Birchwood^[3] #Risley^[4] due to a multi-vehicle collision.
