M2 crash between J6 (Sittingbourne) and J5 (Faversham) on coastbound motorway

Drivers have been caught up in delays on a motorway after a crash involving three vehicles.

Traffic has been building on the M2 coastbound carriageway, between J6 (Faversham^[1]) and J7 (Canterbury^[2]).

One of vehicles is believed to have aquaplaned and is facing the wrong way.

A further two cars are reported to have been involved in the collision.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “We were called at 10.26am to the M2 between junctions 6 and 7, coastbound, following reports of a collision involving three vehicles.

“No injuries have been reported.

“Traffic is being temporarily being held while the vehicles are being moved to the hard shoulder.”
