M1 traffic now as drivers stuck in delays of more than an hour after crash near Doncaster – live updates
The M1 has been closed in South Yorkshire this evening following a crash on the northbound carriageway near the junction with the M18.
The motorway[1] was closed heading north after a crash between Junction 32 for the M18 and Junction 33 for the A630[2]. Traffic was held in the area for around 20 minutes and there are long delays[3] on the route with lane closures still in place.
According to the AA traffic report of the incident, traffic was first held at around 6pm due to a crash. Inrix reports that lane one (of four) remains closed as emergency services clear the scene.
A traffic report from the AA said: “All lanes stopped and stationary traffic due to crash on M1 Northbound from J32 M18 to J33 A630 (Catcliffe / Sheffield / Rotherham).
“Severe delays of 68 minutes and delays increasing on M1 Northbound between J32 M18 and J33 A630 (Catcliffe / Sheffield / Rotherham). Average speed five mph.”
