Live M5 traffic: Gloucestershire updates as half term break is about to start
Delays are anticipated on a number of busy roads in Gloucestershire today (Friday, October 27) as the half-term holiday is about to begin in the county. Motorists are expected to hit main routes such as the M5 during the course of the day.
For neighbouring counties, half-term has been this week. So people are expected to be hitting the M5 on their return home after the break.
Traffic[1] heading home should be at its busiest during the afternoon after most people have left their holiday accommodation. People have been advised to allow extra time for journeys with the expected delays and clashes with people heading off for the week.
At present, traffic on the M5 appears to be moving smoothly with cameras from the motorway show few queues in Gloucestershire[2]. Along with the M5, other major South West roads including the M4 and A303 are also expected to be busy.
Updates throughout the day will appear in the live blog below. Scroll down for the latest information from Gloucestershire's roads.
