Motorbike crash on M65 near Blackburn caused closure

Just after 9.00pm yesterday (September 8), National Highways issued a warning saying the eastbound carriageway between junction 4 and junction 5 “is closed due to a serious collision involving a motorcycle.”

There were delays of around 10 minutes on approach to the scene and queues of around one mile.

A diversion was in place to get people off the motorway while an investigation was ongoing by the police.

Police confirmed just before 6.00am this morning that the road was open again.
