Man dies after Ford Focus crash on M25 near Potters Bar

Hertfordshire police were called to the motorway to reports of a crash between junction 23 (South Mimms) and junction 25 (Waltham Cross) at 11pm yesterday evening (September 16).

A red Ford Focus, which had been travelling anti-clockwise around the motorway, was found at the scene.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the driver of the car, a man aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead.

Police have said that his next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.

Road closures were in place, including along Barnet Road in Potters Bar, into the early hours of the morning.

Police are now appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage to help with their investigation.

Sergeant Tim Davies from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this very difficult time.

“We are investigating the circumstances of the collision and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it to please come forward.

“If you have a dash cam fitted, please review your footage as you may have captured vital evidence that could help us progress our enquiries.”
