Two men have been taken to hospital after a police chase involving a stolen car led to a crash.

At around 9.30am on Sunday, September 10, the police received a report of a black Hyundai Baron being stolen from Penrith. They also received information it was in the North Yorkshire area.

Afterwards, just after 10am, North Yorkshire Police found the car travelling on the A1(M). They pursued the car east along the A59 towards York.[1][2]

Then, at 10.20am, just as it reached the outer ring road, it crashed into two other cars and was left overturned. One man was found in the Hyundai having suffered serious injuries while another man was found injured a short distance away.

The pair were both taken to hospital, with one being taken by air ambulance and another by land.
