M2 London-bound entry slip to close at Junction 5 for 17 days and London-bound exit slip to shut overnight
Drivers are being reminded that a motorway slip road is to be closed for 17 days.
The M2 London-bound entry slip will be shut at Junction 5 for Sittingbourne, Sheppey and Maidstone, from 8pm (Friday, September 15) until Monday, October 2.
The M2 London-bound entry slip at junction 5 will be shut for more than two weeks while the exit slip will shut overnight
The M2 London-bound exit slip at Junction 5 will also shut from 8pm (Friday) but will reopen at midday on Saturday (September 16).
This is to allow temporary safety barriers to be installed. A diversion will be in place via the A229, M20 and A249.
The closures form part of the £92 million Stockbury Roundabout works[1].
Meanwhile, the coastbound carriageway of the M2 between Junctions 4 (Gillingham) and 5 will be closed all weekend from 8pm (Friday) until 6am on Monday (September 18).
Overnight works will then see the same coastbound stretch shut every night from 8pm to 6am from Monday (September 18) until Thursday, September 21.

National Highways says it is shutting the London-bound entry slip road at Junction 5 while there are closures on the M2 for bridge work to minimise further disruption at a later date.
A diversion will be in place via the A249, M20, A229 and M2.
When the slip reopens, the new A249 to M2 London-bound dedicated slip will be open.
A number of other roadworks are taking place over the coming weeks including on the M20, A249, A21, A2 and M25[2].
