Live: M5 traffic chaos in Somerset after crash shuts lane
One lane on the busy M5 was shut earlier in Somerset following a two-vehicle crash. According to traffic[1] monitoring service Inrix, there were severe delays on the southbound side of the motorway due to the collision near Clevedon.
The crash happened near junction 20 (B3133 Ettlingen Way). There were delays to junction 19 at Portishead.
Inrix reported: "Severe delays and one lane closed due to recovery work and accident, two cars involved on M5 Southbound near J20 B3133 Ettlingen Way (Clevedon). Congestion to J19 (Portishead). A lane closure is now in place."
National Highways confirmed all lanes had reopened at around 7.20pm. Delays remained until around 8.45pm.
