M5 traffic live: Delays as car crashes and left ‘facing oncoming traffic’

The M5 is blocked southbound through Somerset after a car crashed and spun on the busy motorway^[1]. Traffic and travel service Inrix reports that the vehicle is 'facing oncoming traffic on the hard shoulder'.

A lane is closed between Junction 23 and 24 near Bridgwater. "One lane closed and queueing traffic due to accident, a car involved on M5 Southbound from J23 A39 (Bridgwater North) to J24 A38 Taunton Road (Bridgwater South)," says Inrix.

"Lane one (of three) is closed with the car on the hard shoulder facing oncoming traffic."
