M4 traffic news: Nissan destroyed in fire on motorway

The incident took place at around 11.50am on Friday morning at Junction 16 of the M4 westbound.

Fire crews from Swindon[1] and Westlea went to the incident and found one Nissan Note well alight upon arrival.

Two breathing apparatus wearers used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

Wiltshire Police confirmed that there were no injuries from the fire.

A Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We received multiple calls at 11:49am today with reports of a small vehicle fire on the M4 westbound near J16.

“The stop message came through at 12:32pm and crews remained on scene until 12:47pm.”
