M25: Lorry fire near Heathrow hits traffic on motorway
The incident happened on the clockwise carriageway on the M25 between J15 (M4) and J16 (M40) at about 12noon today (August 29).
National Highways warned of long queues of seven miles on approach as one lane remains closed.
Firefighters from the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service are on the scene.
Drivers were told to plan ahead of their journey if travelling through the area.
The AA reported queues clockwise from Egham to Iver and on the anti-clockwise carriageway from Iver up to Maple Cross.
Traffic is not moving or moving slowly anticlockwise on the M25 between J16 and J17.
UPDATE – 3 lanes (of 4) are now open on the #M25[1] clockwise between J15 (#M4[2]) and J16 (#M40[3]).
Lane 1 remains closed whilst @RBFRSofficial[4] work at scene.
