M1 traffic halted for police led incident near Leicester – recap
All traffic on the M1 near Leicester[1] is currently halted in both directions. This is due to a police lead incident on the busy motorway.
It is stopped in both directions from J21A A46 (Leicester North / Kirby Muxloe) to J22 A50 (Coalville / Ashby-de-la-zouch). At this stage, it is unclear when traffic will start moving again.
Police have taken to social media to ask the public to find alternative routes where possible. On Twitter, Leicestershire Police shared: "Traffic Update 20:11** M1 between J21a to J22 both ways currently closed both ways - please find alternate routes."
