Junction 24 M62 live updates as long delays remain near Huddersfield following ‘police incident’

The M62 motorway has been closed in both directions due to a 'police incident'.

West Yorkshire Police^[1] have closed the M62^[2] in both directions near Huddersfield. It is not yet clear why police have closed the motorway in both directions.

The motorway has been closed^[3] from J23 A640 New Hey Road (Huddersfield) to J24 A629 (Ainley Top). Motorists have reported that traffic is being diverted from the M62 via an exit slip road.
