Bicester: M40 re-opens after crash causes overnight closure
The key route for commuters and holidaymakers closed yesterday due to a lorry crash and subsequent fuel spillage.
The collision took place near Cherwell Valley services in the Bicester[1] area.
Fuel spilt across the motorway after a lorry was involved in a crash near junction 10.

National Highways described it as “a substantial diesel spillage across the carriageway.”
The incident caused emergency resurfacing works to take place overnight.
The crash was first reported just before midday yesterday and traffic was at a standstill throughout the afternoon.
Traffic stranded at junction 10 was diverted off the motorway via junction 9.
