Asset Alliance Group continues to hit the target for Bullet Express
Logistics, distribution and storage specialist, Bullet Express, has secured another 35 trucks and trailers from Asset Alliance Group to help with the rapid expansion of the business.
The Glasgow-based company has taken delivery of 14 Mercedes-Benz rigids, seven MAN 6×2 tractor units, six tri-axle Tiger Trailers and eight Lawrence David double deck trailers from the commercial vehicle specialist.
The latest contract-hire agreements come less than two years after Bullet Express secured 11 new vehicles from Asset Alliance Group, in a deal comprising five 18-tonne IVECO Eurocargo 4×2 curtainsiders and six DAF XF 480 6×2 tractor units.
Martin Craghill, Commercial Director at Bullet Express, says: “We connect supply chains and have a very visible presence on roads around the UK, so it is vitally important to refresh our fleet with quality trucks and trailers to further enhance the reputation of Bullet Express.
“For our customers, this means they can always have complete confidence that their goods are being transported by high quality and efficient vehicles.”
Supplied on three- and four-year contract hire deals, the new arrivals will be based in Glasgow and used to service the company’s 800-plus customers across the UK. Joining a 140-strong fleet, the Mercedes-Benz rigids are working for the contract services division, including retail and home delivery operations, whilst the MAN trucks are being deployed to move containers to and from Scottish ports. The 14 trailers will bolster the firm’s overnight express pallet delivery operation.
Commenting on Asset Alliance Group, Craghill adds: “We have worked with Business Development Manager, Dougie Bennett, for 30 years. It’s a can-do relationship. When our guys say ‘we need some new trucks and trailers’, we speak to Dougie and he’s very pro-active. The customer service is just fantastic. We really appreciate the quick turnaround of trucks and trailers to help with the continual growth of our business.”
Bennett says it’s a strong relationship: “I remember supplying Bullet Express with its very first curtainsider trailer all those years ago. It’s great to see this major logistics operator continue on its growth path. We are proud to be a key partner in supporting the business.”
Founded in 1990, Bullet Express has undergone a rapid expansion programme since 2021. Following the opening of a 67,000 sq ft storage facility next to Glasgow Airport last year – taking the firm’s total storage capacity to 600,000sq ft across five sites, with 40,000 pallets under management – the firm is currently exploring plans to develop a new air cargo logistics operation.
