Suspected stolen Land Rover involved in two-car smash on A66
A suspected stolen Land Rover was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Middlesbrough[1] that closed the A66[2].
Police and fire crews were called to the eastbound carriageway of the major Teesside route, at the Cargo Fleet Lane roundabout[3], after two cars collided on Sunday evening. Images from the scene show a police car in the centre of the roundabout blocking traffic and another shows fire crews at the scene.
Cleveland Police[4] has confirmed that enquiries are ongoing into the occupants of the reported stolen Land Rover after they made off from the scene following the incident. The vehicles were recovered - with the fire service saying that the five casualties involved had minor injuries.
