II.1.4) Short description

This contract is for the design, supply, commisioning, training and maintenance of Lifting Jacks.

The supplier will be required to complete all elements of delivery and commissioning inclusive of cable management. The supply will be for 12 lifting jacks and associated equipment. The Jacks will be primarily used to maintain EMR's regional fleet class 170 and 158 vehicles with a requirement for a safe working load of 15 tonnes each.

The lifting jacks will be operated from Etches Park Depot - South Shed, road 7.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement

Purchase of 12 lifting jacks and associated control equipment capable of safely lifting the range of rolling stock, class 158 and class 170 vehicles.

The procurement includes design, commisioning and ongoing maintenance requirements.

The lifting jacks will be electrically operated screw type, adequatley rated for their intended duty. The jacks will be non rail mounted.

The jacks will be capable of lifting rolling stock at a lifting speed not greater than 300mm/min. All jacks should be fitted with an adjustable anvil lifting arm. The anvil height range shall be sufficient to safely lift the tupes of rolling stock details.

Jacks shall have the capability of further expansion to allow additional identical sets to be used as one synchronised system for lifting multiple vehicles of 2 and 3 sets. The jacks will retain the ability to be operated in sets of four allowing for single car lifts.

The jacks shall be capable of continuous operation in all weather conditions in a temperature range of -5 to +35 degrees centigrade inclusive.

Lifting jack body and bracket to finished in safety yellow.

The jacks shall include fork truck lifting pockets and jack lifting points to assist in transporting/moving the jacks. Fork truck lifting pockets to be parallel to the running rail.
