M62 accident causes two hour delays on motorway to Bolton
Severe delays are expected on the M62 after two lane closure due to recovery work and accident on the M62 Eastbound from J21 A6193 Sir Isaac Newton Way – Milnrow to J22 A672 – Rishworth Moor.
Congestion continues to J20 Rochdale and towards Bolton.
Queuing traffic on the westbound side as onlookers slow to look at the incident.
Lanes three and four (Of four) were closed but are now open, however there are reported delays of up to two hours.
A spokesman for traffic data system Inrix said: “Severe delays and two lanes closed due to recovery work and accident on M62 Eastbound from J21 A6193 Sir Isaac Newton Way (Milnrow) to J22 A672 (Rishworth Moor).
“Congestion to J20 (Rochdale). Queuing traffic on the westbound side as onlookers slow to look at the incident. Lanes three and four (Of four) are closed.”
National Highways North West said: “3 lanes are closed on the #M62 eastbound between J21 #Milnrow and J22 #Saddleworth due to a collision.
“There is currently around 3 miles of congestion which is adding about half an hour onto normal journey times.”
