M5 crash live as motorway in Gloucestershire is closed in both directions

Gloucestershire Constabulary statement

Gloucestershire Constabulary has released a statement. It reads:

Closures are in place on the M5 northbound carriageway between junctions 14 and 13 due to a collision. There are delays in the area and motorists are advised to use alternative routes due to the build-up of traffic.

The southbound carriageway was also closed but is now in the process of being re-opened, however there will be delays. Five vehicles were involved and emergency services remain at the scene. One person has sustained serious injuries and four others will be taken to hospital to be checked over.
