Busy Glasgow motorway closed as police send ‘avoid’ warning

Police blocked the M8 motorway at Gartcraig Road, near junctions 11 and 12, as they are dealing with an incident.

999 crews were called to concern for a person.

On Twitter, cops warned motorists to avoid the area if possible.

A post read: “The emergency services are dealing with a concern for a person incident in the vicinity of the M8 at Gartcraig Road in Glasgow – between junctions 11 and 12.

“The motorway is currently closed to traffic in both directions, and motorists should avoid the area.”
