Motorcyclist in hospital with serious injuries after crash on motorway

A motorcyclist is in hospital with serious injuries after a one-vehicle crash in Paisley on Sunday morning.

At around 9.25am on Sunday June 4, a motorcycle crashed on the M8 near junction 28A.

The 34-year-old female rider of a white Yamaha was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries.

The road was closed for around an hour and reopened around 10.25am.

Sergeant Chris Hoggans of Glasgow Road Policing said: “I am appealing for anyone with information regarding this incident to contact us.

“I would ask any motorists particularly with dash cams who were in and around that area to check the footage as it may have captured images that could assist in our investigation.

“We are also keen to speak to anyone who stopped to assist the woman but who has not yet spoken to police.

“Anyone with information is urged to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1266 of June 4, 2023.”
