Live as M1 closed by police over ‘concerns’ for man on motorway near Barnsley and Huddersfield
The M1 southbound has been closed by police following a report of concern for safety.
According to South Yorkshire Police, they received reports of concern for the safety of a man at 6.26pm earlier today. Now, the M1 southbound is closed between junctions 37 for Barnsley and 38 for Huddersfield.
The police are advising anyone who is planning to travel in that direction to take an alternate route.
South Yorkshire Police said: “We are currently responding to an incident on M1 southbound, Junction 37 – 38 after we received reports of concern for the safety of a man at 6.26pm.
“The southbound carriageway will be closed. Please take an alternative route where possible and thank you for your patience.”
