Full A34 diversion route as major road closed due to overturned lorry

A major Oxfordshire road is shut to traffic due to an overturned lorry today (Monday, June 12). The incident has led to long delays in the county.

The A34 Northbound[1] between the A4185 near Chilton and A4130 near Didcot[2] is shut to traffic. The road is closed while recovery of the overturned HGV takes place.

The road has been closed just before the Milton Interchange and Thames Valley Police[3] are at the scene. As well as recovery of the HGV, a fuel spillage will also need to be cleared.

National Highways has published a full diversion route whilst recovery takes place. A National Highways spokesperson said: If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time.

“Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey[5].”
