Cambridge road reopens after lorry hits railway bridge …

A road has reopened and after a lorry hit a railway bridge near Cambridge. The vehicle struck the bridge over Coldham’s Lane on Thursday afternoon.

The vehicle came to rest on its side partially under the bridge. The road remained closed for several hours.

Inrix, the traffic data company, said: “Slow traffic due to earlier overturned lorry on Coldhams Lane in both directions from A1134 Barnwell Road to Nuttings Road. All lanes have been re-opened. Sensors confirm traffic is now flowing however delays remain.”

Confirming the closure, a Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service[1] spokesperson said: “Coldham’s Lane in Cambridge is currently closed due to a road traffic collision under the railway bridge. It’s likely to be closed for a few hours, so please check your route before you travel.”
