Traffic is currently being diverted via local roads, with miles of congestion forming along the A14 and in the surrounding areas.
Congestion is currently reaching back to junction 32 westbound, for Histon and Impington, and on the eastbound carriageway for several miles, with heavy traffic heading toward Barnwell as diverted traffic uses the A1303 to enter Cambridge.
It means there is also congestion along the A1134, Newmarket Road as people trying to reach Cambridge come in through Barnwell.
