List of Yorkshire train stations unaffected by rail strikes in May and …

This month and next month, rail workers will be going on strike across the country in an attempt to get better working conditions and pay.

As a result on May 12, 31 and June 3, the majority of services will no longer be running. On May 13, rail services will also be seriously impacted.

However, a few services will still be running throughout the strike period, meaning some of the major train stations in Yorkshire will still see trains arrive. These are mostly for the major lines between cities like Leeds and London.

Each train provider has made their own plans for dealing with the strikes and have said exactly which of their services will be running. Northern Rail have said there will be no Northern Services running on May 12, May 31 and June 3.

On these days, there will also be no rail replacement bus services and some Northern stations may be completely closed. However, on June 13, a few services will continue to run between around 8am to 5pm.

In Yorkshire, these are:

  • Darlington - Middlesbrough - Saltburn
  • Leeds - York
  • Leeds - Hebden Bridge
  • Leeds - Ilkley
  • Leeds - Skipton
  • Sheffield - Moorthorpe - Leeds
  • Leeds - Bradford Forster Square

Transpennine Express have a similar timetable with no trains running on May 12, 31 or June 3. On May 13 they will be running the following services:

  • Twelve services between Liverpool Lime Street/Manchester Piccadilly and Huddersfield (six fast services, six local services)
  • Five services between Liverpool Lime Street and Preston

  • Four services between Liverpool Lime Street and Sheffield
  • Four services between Sheffield and Cleethorpes

As for LNER services, they have said they will be running reduced services on strike days. On May 12, this means there will only be limited services running from Leeds to London, York to London and York to Edinburgh and services will also be limited on May 13.

Further details on strike action later in the month has not been announced by LNER.
