Driver taken to hospital with head injuries after crash at Coventry …

A man was taken to hospital with head injuries after his car ploughed straight into a roundabout in Coventry[1]. Emergency services were alerted to the crash at Stivichall roundabout on the A45 Stonebridge Highway in Finham shortly after midnight today (Friday, May 19).

A Canley[2] Fire Station spokesperson said a man had managed to get himself out of his car when 999 vehicles reached the scene. He was checked over by paramedics who arrived by land ambulance before he was conveyed to University Hospital Coventry.

The casualty suffered head injuries not believed to be life-threatening. No one else was travelling in the car.

The crash forced the temporary closure of a section of the A45 near to the roundabout while emergency services attended the incident.
