I purchased this tool as i am fed up of paying crazy prices for repairs at my local ducati dealer. i have an ongoing problem with my ducati which the dealer couldnt seem to sort out yet are happy to take a lot of my money off me! i thought i would give the topdon a try after all if it didnt work i could return and get my money back. I purchased the tool and then also purchased seperately the diagnostic lead for my bike. I connected the tool to my phone which was easy enough through the topdon app, connected it to the bike and found that my camshaft sensor was showing as faulty! i purchased a new sensor fitted it myself and (touch wood) so far all is good. So overall happy withy my purchase.
Cleared DTCs and reset annual service date on Ducati MTS 950s
Installed TopScan App on a spare phone so this will be the dedicated phone for use. Activated, and downloaded software, the device read the bike’s VIN, 2020 Ducati Multistrada 950s, scanned for DTCs, found four relating to the keyless key and electric steering lock (probably battery related in the past), cleared those and they didn’t reoccur. Went into special functions and reset annual service date to today’s date (the bike service was completed over the previous weekend) and it worked first time. There was also an option to reset oil service oil service light reset, but the MTS works on the annual service light deactivation. Unit & 4 pin Ducati cable (bought from Lonelec) are small and easy to pack away for long trips giving peace of mind should any electrical gremlins appear. Didn’t try any of the bidirectional controls as there are no issues that need it on the bike, but again would be very useful for fault finding of electrical parts. 12 months updates included out of the box and so far the software available is Ducati, BMW & Harley, I downloaded all three onto the device should they be needed by others in the future.

This is a great little tool, a must have for your garage. The app is very easy to navigate and pretty straightforward. It scans your vehicles check engine light, shows you the codes and you can clear them. Works with pretty much all American and foreign vehicles.
