I’ve been using the TOPDON CarPal for a little while now, and it’s easily one of the best Bluetooth diagnostic tools I’ve tried. Right out of the box, the device feels well-built and compact — perfect for keeping plugged into my vehicle’s OBD-II port without it getting in the way.
Setting it up was quick and painless. The CarPal connected to my phone via Bluetooth without any issues, and the companion app is very intuitive. It provides clear, detailed diagnostic reports, and I was able to read and clear trouble codes within minutes. What really impressed me was how fast the data updates — there’s barely any lag between what’s happening in the car and what’s shown on the app.
Another big plus is how it gives real-time information like engine RPM, speed, coolant temperature, and more. It’s incredibly useful for monitoring your car’s health and catching small problems before they become big ones.
For the price, the TOPDON CarPal offers a ton of value. Whether you’re a DIY mechanic or just someone who wants to stay informed about your vehicle, this is a must-have tool. Highly recommended!
This topdon scanner is a very good tool for reading and clearing faults. Setting it up requires you to make an account, but it’s very easy to do so.
A connection to my Volvo’s central electronics module wasn’t connected before I turned the ignition on which caused a whole load of faults to show up on the OBD2, one of which was an SRS airbag fault which couldn’t be cleared with a normal OBD2 scanners. This scanner however managed to access the SRS diagnostics and cleared it very quickly.
However this device is on a subscription. The first year is free, but past that you must pay 29.99 per year to use the advanced features. I believe it only limits you to basic engine code functionality like any other basic scanner if you don’t pay this fee.
The next downside is you can only store 3 cars at a time, however I believe you can delete cars from your account if you no longer need to scan a particular car.
The 29.99 year subscription is still cheaper than taking it to a mechanics for them to clear it so I’d say it’s probably worth it, especially if your car likes to give out lots of codes like mine does.

Le TOPDON CarPal est super pratique : branchement facile, connexion Bluetooth rapide et diagnostics trs complets. Il lit les codes moteur, ABS, airbag, etc., et donne des explications claires.
L’application est bien faite, on peut mme exporter un rapport pour le garagiste.
Franchement top rapport qualit/prix, parfait pour surveiller sa voiture soi-mme. Je recommande sans hsiter !
Great little thingy
All I can say is that this thing really works! It made my car run much smoother while stationary. You can easily read any engine problems, and the app is very user friendly and works great. I’d almost go so far as to say that anyone who owns a car should have one of these.
Don’t know what the complaints are about. Connected to my cellphone quicker than any other Bluetooth device I’ve ever used, it was instant. A few setup procedures and scanned my vehicle in no time at all. It cleared some code and helped direct me to areas that could be responsible for the codes that remained. Found the fault and I’m good here. Option to add 3 cars in total is a nice touch and making it a more valued tool to have. Will definitely be setting up a subscription in a years time. Well worth the money and definitely recommended.
My Vivaro went into limp mode & although I knew what the problem may have been was reluctant to payout yet again. Device was simple to set up & connect to van via Bluetooth. Once plugged in Scan showed problem with oil from regeneration(s). Simple oil change, perform regeneration via device, scan again & clear faults. Engine now running normally & all lights out on Dashboard! A great piece of kit at an affordable price. I believe there’s a subscription payable annually but worth every penny on savings to be made!!!!
Bought to do a DPF as garages charge 80 upwards, worked a treat. limited to adding upto 3 car brands for a year so pretty good as a tool. I would buy the next model up as it has more features for diagnostics and live readings.
Wasn’t sure what product to buy as so many onthe market.
