Most Android units wouldn’t work in my 2010 320D LCI so I was pleasantly surprised to find this works impeccably, auto located iPhone and can also run multiple apps on screen. Doesn’t integrate with Idrive but not bothered as can stream DAB / internet radio along with Google, Waze, Apple, Sygic, Magic Earth and Hudway navigation apps. Love it!
It is ok for the money.
However I bought it as shown double Bluetooth and that wasn’t the case. The company customer care was very good. They responded within 24 hours to every email and sent new firmware to upgrade the system software.
Improved navigatio
Easy to install with clear instructions. The Bluetooth works well and the screen has transformed the navigation experience I.e. you can read/see the screen instructions now! Well worth the money.
Both CarPlay and Android Auto work fine. Touchscreen works ok.
FM out is an interesting surprising feature— but it looks like USB-C power input is used as an antenna, so a random USB-C cable won’t be good; use the cigarette lighter to USB-C that this came with instead.
Built in speakers are nothing special, but it doesn’t matter. UI is reasonable.
The “camera input” is poorly documented and labeled “AV-in”. It seems like it might be some sort of composite in over 2.5mm connector, which is slightly odd if one is not used to it. I am not sure about the pinout required or if it will work, but if it’s really just composite in, and if it can be triggered easily, this suddenly turns into a cool desk-mounted control for music playback while doing something else.
I did not spend time on Chromecast or Airplay functionality, but it looks like Airplay only works with audio. I also initially could not get it to work until disconnecting something else (I don’t recall what). I did not try local removable card support.
It would be an amazing device if it also had DisplayPort/HDMI-in w/ touch out, and/or if it also had projection to an external display, but that’s certainly not required. I am happy with a desk-mounted device focused on controlling music playback.
Excellent screen, easy to fit and easy to work.
Android 16 contains a bug which causes disconnection from time to time, you can upgrade these screens to repair that bug so it doesn’t disconnect while you are driving.
Highly recommended, customer service is top notch too.
