Great scan tool, worth every penny. Does everything I could do with vagcom/VCDS for the vags. Almost as much as Peugeot planet for the Peugeots and does extra for everything too. Nice filing system to add customers to as well which is a nice touch
With cars becomming evermore complex and as they are continually throttled and controlled to reach ever tighter fuel and emissions regulations, its only more likely that things on the cars will fail and there are so many sensors that without a scanner like this, it’s impossible to diagnose cars.
This great little OBD reader allows us to continue to work on our own cars and have a chance to save huge amounts of money in diagnosis fees from the main dealers.
We have a ford focus that has been throwing up a engine management light when you rev the car past 4000rpm for a few weeks now but it clears each time you turn the engine off, so I’ve not been in a hurry to find out the issue.
I connected the scanner to my wifi and started with the online tutorials, downloaded all the new updates and got connected to the car.
It’s very easy to use and I can genuinely say its made diagnosis easy.
It came back with 2 codes p1102 and p2279, both these codes indicate a leak in one of the boost pipes which at least gave me a place to start and I can pull all the pipes off and look for small cracks, rips and tears. Hopefully this will be an easy fix now I know where to start.

In my opinion it’s compact, robust enough for life in a garage environment, and straightforward to use.
It comes with 28 maintenance & reset services, a lifetime of free core OBD2 functions, together with 3 years of free software updates.
It’s a great choice in my opinion, it’s highly compatible with everything that drives into my garage, and battery life is solid.

I’ve been using the MUCAR VO7 OBD2 scanner for a while now and it’s actually pretty impressive for a DIY diagnostic tool. The 7-inch screen is clear, and it runs smoothly most of the time when connected to WiFi for updates. I like that it can read and clear codes across pretty much every system and the bidirectional controls are genuinely useful for testing parts.
On the downside, the interface can feel a bit overwhelming at first, and some of the advanced coding features definitely require caution if you’re not experienced. Also, the “lifetime free” maintenance claims sound great, but some functions seem more limited depending on the car.
Overall though, it’s a powerful tool for home mechanics, just not quite as plug-and-play as it first sounds.
