I was a bit confused when I received this item because the description of what I ordered said it had a 7-inch screen, but this device is what plugs into the vehicle and connects via Bluetooth to a phone app. I downloaded the required Dollarfix app to use with this scanner, although I was a bit confused because I noticed a Mucar app was available in the app store, and it’s not clear why Dollarfix app is used for a Mucar device.
Setup was straightforward. I turned on the vehicle, plugged the device into the OBD port, connected it to my phone, and it automatically detected the VIN and pulled up the vehicle information. From there, I ran a diagnostic scan. I couldn’t figure out how to see live data, and the app had a lot of information that wasn’t applicable to a scanning device at all. I found it all distracting and just wanted an app to use as a diagnostic tool.
The scan took longer than I expected because it kept pausing to download more files, even after having already downloaded the file for my vehicle. The scan showed several fault codes and allowed me to send a report, but the basic report mostly just listed the codes (such as PTS for Park Tronics and AMP for Amplifier) without much explanation.

This OBD2 diagnostic device worked pretty well on a Kia Sportage. It had been showing an intermittent issue but the issue wasn’t there when the garage did the service and they couldn’t find any issue so they recommended I get one of these to pull off the error code the next time the issue happened. The issue did pop up again and I was able to use this to get the info the garage will need next time I take the car in.
The device was very easy to use, pretty much just plug it in, pair it with my phone and the app then tells you everything you need to know. I had no issues with bluetooth stability with it. It will work with all cars made since 2001 for petrol and 2004 for diesel (earlier than that it may still work but you need to check if the vehicle is OBD2 compatible). You get a lot more info from this than a lot of the cheaper scanners that just give you a code and nothing else, it can help point you in the right direction and suggests other things to check.

Es handelt sich nicht um ein klassisches Standalone-Gert mit eigenem groen Display, sondern um einen Bluetooth-Adapter, der zusammen mit der DollarFix-App genutzt wird. Das sollte man vor dem Kauf wissen, denn die eigentliche Bedienung und Auswertung luft ber das Smartphone.
Die Einrichtung war bei mir grundstzlich unkompliziert. Adapter in den OBD2-Anschluss stecken, App ffnen, verbinden und dann das Fahrzeug auswhlen bzw. erkennen lassen. Die Verbindung kam zuverlssig zustande und die App bietet deutlich mehr Mglichkeiten als einfache Billig-OBD2-Dongles. Man merkt schon, dass das Gert eher in Richtung erweiterte Diagnose geht und nicht nur ein einfacher Code-Reader ist.

Genau das macht den Unterschied zu sehr gnstigen Adaptern, die meistens nur Motordaten auslesen knnen. Wenn das Fahrzeug untersttzt wird, kann man mit dem BT200 MAX deutlich tiefer in einzelne Systeme schauen.

Trotzdem sollte man wissen, was man tut, denn mit solchen Funktionen spielt man nicht einfach herum wie mit einer Taschenlampen-App.

Gerade wenn man kein Kfz-Profi ist, kann das helfen, Zusammenhnge besser zu verstehen und mgliche Ursachen einzugrenzen.
Allerdings war bei mir zunchst unklar, was mit der AI-Funktion langfristig passiert. In der App wurde sinngem eine zeitlich begrenzte kostenlose Nutzung angezeigt. Ich habe deshalb beim Kundenservice nachgefragt. Die Antwort war, dass sich die AI-Analyse aktuell noch in einer Optimierungs- und Weiterentwicklungsphase befindet. Derzeit soll die AI-Funktion kostenlos nutzbar sein, ohne feste zeitliche Begrenzung, ohne Hufigkeitslimit und ohne Begrenzung der Anzahl der Analysen. Sollte die AI-Funktion spter kostenpflichtig oder abonnementbasiert werden, will der Hersteller dies vorher offiziell ankndigen.

It also gives you a headline of the issue, and if you click through from that, you get an in-depth AI overview of the symptoms and what to try doing next. This is still a little on the technical side, so you’ll probably still need to know the basics to make good use of this.

I found this OBD2 scanner to be very compact and convenient to use. It is compatible and works perfectly with my BMW F30 for reading fault codes and performing battery tests. It is connected via bluetooth and the iOS app is easy to navigate, making the whole process straightforward. It has many features and I haven’t got a chance to explore all of them. Overall, it’s a reliable diagnostic tool with plenty of useful features for car maintenance. Priced at 109 at the time of review, I think it’s a fair price considering the functionality and performance.
