I was really pleased with these roof bars, most options I had been looking at were silver coloured and sat quite high above the roof which just didn’t look in keeping with our vehicle. These bars however look great in black and don’t sit too high. They also have a noticeably aerodynamic profile so I feel happy just leaving these fitted.
There’s plenty of adjustment available and two length options which I imagine will cover the majority of vehicles. Installation is straight forward with clear instructions included as well as videos online. The clamps feel very secure and are lined with silicone pads to ensure no damage should your roof rails be painted. There are also locking mechanisms which should be enough to deter any passing opportunist thief from pinching them.
There are rubber strips running along the top of the bars to add grip, but these can also be removed/trimmed to reveal a standard 20mm T-track channel which opens up options for mounting and securing items.
All in all these are great looking solid roof bars and fairly priced at around 80.
I had the 118cm bars to review. They fitted very well on the fixed flush roof rails on our 2023 Vitara.
These roof rack bars are a very high standard. The written instructions in the box are a little basic, but I did understand them and was able to fit the bars to the roof very securely. If needed there is a QR code on the instruction sheet which opens on a browser to a lot of very good YouTube video’s on how to fit all of the Alpine roof bars. The initial setup take a little long than it will to refit them to the roof. From start to finish including removing the bars once fitted took 38mins.
The bar themselves are very strong and well designed. All of the trims required to do a professional install are included in the box and they also include a fairly good quality keyring for the locking keys to be kept safe.
Instruction indicate that the max speed with the bars fitted is 70mph with a carrying capacity of 75Kg. Parked the bars are rated at 150KG. Not that the car manufacture has specified the roof can take 150kg, the manufactures only recommend a max 75kg. Do remember to check what your car max load and also remember that this max recommended includes the weight of the roof rack.
If I were to give negative, it would be the box that the bard are packed/delivered in are not strong enough for the parcel delivery services that are delivering the items. The end of my box had been ripped of exposing the roof bars. Very minor negative point.
Needed roof bars for an estate car with flush roof rails to carry a roof box on a family trip. The adjustable span covering 86 to 134cm fitted the rail spacing accurately and the locking mechanism clamped down securely without any movement once set. The 140cm bar length gave enough width for the roof box to sit centrally without overhanging awkwardly. Anti-theft locks are a feature that earns its place immediately when leaving a loaded roof box in a motorway services car park overnight. The silver finish suits the car without drawing attention and the aerodynamic profile keeps wind noise to a noticeably lower level than a basic square-section bar would. Load felt stable throughout a five hour motorway journey at varying speeds and the bars showed no sign of shifting or loosening over the trip. Fitting the first time took about twenty minutes including reading the instructions carefully, subsequent removal and refitting is considerably quicker once the process is familiar. The anti-theft key should be kept somewhere accessible without being obvious, a detail worth thinking about before the first journey. Good quality bars at a price that makes outfitting a family car for occasional use straightforward.
The AUTOAXORY universal roof rack bars fit flush to my car’s existing roof rails. I feel safe knowing that these cannot move beyond the car’s rails because they terminate at the front and the back of the roof.
Each bar comes with Allen keys to adjust and a key lock at both ends of the individual rails so that nobody can tamper with the hex bolts after they are tightened in place. The roof bars adjust from 64 to 112 cm.
Once the bars are in place and all bolts have been tightened and clamps are secured to the rails, this is the time to slide your rubber gaskets into position along the top and underneath, plus fit the end caps to ensure a watertight system. At the end, you would put the locking caps for peace of mind so nobody can tamper with them.
The bars are made from solid aluminium, which is lightweight and will support up to a 75 kg (165 lbs) capacity.
I could use these to secure my kayak or Thule roof box; they are incredibly strong and safe. I fitted them according to the instructions, and I feel like it is a well-made product that will stay in place. Plus the rubber gasket will prevent the aluminium bars from touching anything that could get scratched up!
In conclusion, I think this is a well-made roof bar system that I can rely on for years to come. Available in black of silver finish for under 80.
I fitted these bars to my Mokka installation was straightforward. The instructions aren’t elaborate, but they’re clear enough, and all the fittings and tools you need come in the box. The first setup took a bit of time while I lined everything up, but refitting them afterwards was much quicker.
In the photo, the clamp sits at a slight angle on the rail. I wasn’t completely sure whether that’s just the way the Mokka’s flush rails taper or how the clamp naturally settles, but once tightened it felt completely secure. No shifting, no creaks, nothing to suggest it wasn’t gripping properly.
The locking caps add a bit of reassurance when leaving the car parked, and the overall build feels strong and well finished. They handle a roof box or light gear without any fuss.
I really liked the touch of included a branded key ring to store the lock keys on as well
These roof bars are designed to fit cars with integrated rails. I like the quality and sturdiness of them once securely fitted. These bars might need to be cut shorter if they overhang the roof too much. The instructions suggest using a hacksaw, not supplied.
The mounting slots in the bars appear to be long enough that quite a significant amount of shortening can be done whilst maintaining mounting capability. A long finishing rubber strip is included that slots into the top, and the end caps also supplied need to be fitted as part of the procedure.
Once setup, the bars can be unlocked and removed quickly if required. A storage bag is not supplied, which I would have appreciated as for me, roof bars like this, do not need to be permanently attached to my car.
Work well, and perfectly fit the very-low profile roof bars on my 2015 Volvo V60.
You get some rubber inserts to stick to the inside of the clamps too so you don’t damage the paintwork on your roof bars, and two keys which work on all 4 clamps. Are lightweight, sturdy and the paint finish in them feels nice.
The locks on each clamp do what they need, though I’m a bit disappointed that the entire lock itself comes away from the clamp to get access to the hex bolts which increases their risk of misplacement if you don’t immediately lock them back to the clamps when putting the bars away somewhere.
Otherwise, have driven around for a few weeks with them fitted to the car and confident in their fitment and durability.
