Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersCan clean automatically, manually (with the remote in the App), and via voice prompts
The QR Code for adding to the App and going through establishing a WiFi connection is located under the top lid. Please see my photo. Do be aware the wifi connection needs to be 2.4GHz and not just 5GHz. I encountered connection issues establishing the wifi and realised my advert blocking software App was causing the issue. After temporarily disabling it, the wifi connection was correctly sorted. Do ensure any VPN running is turned off through this procedure. Otherwise a wifi connection probably won’t be established. Worth noting that a wifi connection just between the cleaner and my mobile phone was made prior to a connection to the home wifi network.

The on board control buttons feel sturdy when touched and pressed. With an expected responsiveness to the appropriate action.

I am rather surprised how loud the voice prompts are from the cleaner when it is first turned on. The sound is very clear. There are volume settings in the App to make adjustments.

Apart from the lid which gets removed to access the QR Code seeming to be fairly thin plastic. The rest of the cleaner appears to be far more robust.

As with other electrical items the kettle style power cord is quite short. Which can significantly limit possible locations of the docking station. Not only for the location of a suitable mains power socket, but also for a place allowing the docking station to be placed and with adequate clear surroundings.

A firmware update was already displayed in the App. This was successfully downloaded when I selected it. Which was fairly quickly achieved. What surprised me was a voice prompt informing me its installation would take 5-10 minutes. Thankfully this seemed to be at the lower end. Possibly even a little quicker. It is possible to set for automatic firmware updates in the App. These are carried out during specific hours and when there is sufficient charge to do so.

My attached video shows the cleaner locating its docking station and going to it to fully charge up. The initial charge going from a received state of 56% to a fully charged status took under two hours. This included a firmware update.

The mop heads magnetically attach to the base of the cleaner. Where each mop head has a different magnetic polarity on the connector, so they will each only attach in one place and the magnets will repel when attempting to fit in the incorrect position. Removal, because they attach via magnets, is a case of lifting up a mop head.

Very little needs to be physically done for setting up the docking station and the robotic cleaner. The docking station just required a tray placed inside for the cleaner to sit on, the ramp pushed on, and the power cord attached and plugged in. With the removal of tape holding down the compartment lids on the top of the unit. I think the robot only required the fitted of the mop heads.

Noise levels when operating are fairly quiet.

It is possible for maps to be created for cleaning various rooms. In the App is even a remote control section for manually directing the cleaner.

There is quite a weight to the docking station when it is empty. The robot cleaner is fairly light.

The robot cleaner has quite an adjustable height adaptability.

It is possible to use the on board camera to inspect around an area. Which could be useful to check whether a door was closed or to keep an eye on a pet if there are no installed indoor cameras in a room.

The two main wheels on the robotic cleaner are rather chunky and have great traction.

I find the instructions, quick start guide, and other materials to be clearly written and laid out. Although some diagram images are on the small size.

Do be aware several parts will require replacement because they have a limited life. Which adds more additional costs than there normally is for a regular vacuum cleaner. The hours used and percentage remaining is specified with the Maintenance area of the App. A filter, brushes (main & side), sensors, mop heads, and dust bags, are the replaceable items. The replacement of these should be impacted by the amount and type of dirt regularly cleaned by the product, and not just from an amount of time in use.

It is possible, if activated, to control the product via giving it specific voice prompts.

Ordered and received during May 2026. When priced at 699.99 for the black version. The performance seems to be very good. With it aesthetically fitting well and being unobtrusive in various room environments. The Android App is simple to navigate and responsive. Allowing for good customisation and utilising the full capabilities of the product. The current price does seem expensive. I do not know how the build quality and functionality compares to current alternative products around this price point. As I do have limited knowledge and experience with robotic cleaners.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersFrom Q7+ to Qrevo Edge 2: Why the Upgrade Was Worth I
From Q7+ to Qrevo Edge 2: Why the Upgrade Was Worth It

Our trusty Roborock Q7+ finally earned its retirement. After a few years of loyal service it was starting to show its age, so we replaced it with the new Roborock Qrevo Edge 2. A few weeks in, I can happily report it’s not just an upgrade — it’s a different class of machine.

    The Q7+ served us well

Credit where it’s due — the Q7+ was a solid workhorse. It had 360 LiDAR navigation that mapped the house accurately, an auto-empty dock so we only thought about the bin every few weeks, and it happily vacuumed and mopped in a single pass. For its generation, it was genuinely good, and it never gave us any real grief.

But the limitations became harder to ignore over time. The suction, at 2,700 Pa, was fine for day-to-day dust but struggled to lift anything embedded in the rugs. It had no obstacle avoidance whatsoever — if a charging cable or a stray shoe was in its path, it simply ploughed on and either dragged it along or beached itself. And the mopping was, charitably, a damp wipe rather than a proper clean. The dock emptied the dustbin, but the mop pad was left for me to rinse by hand every single time.

The outgoing Roborock Q7+ — a good machine, but a generation behind.

    Enter the Qrevo Edge 2

The first thing that strikes you is the design. The Qrevo Edge 2 has an ultra-slim 3.14-inch body, made possible by a retractable LiDAR turret that drops down when it needs to slide under low furniture. Our Q7+ used to sit stranded in front of the TV unit and the beds; the Edge 2 disappears underneath and comes back out having actually cleaned under there. That alone reclaimed a surprising amount of floor.

Then there’s the raw power. Where the Q7+ managed 2,700 Pa, the Edge 2 puts out 25,000 Pa of HyperSuction. That’s not a marginal bump — it’s roughly nine times the figure. On our hallway rug, which the old unit used to skim over, the Edge 2 pulls up grit you didn’t know was there. The zero-tangle brush system has also solved a genuine annoyance: with a busy household, the Q7+’s brush needed unwinding regularly. The Edge 2 has been through weeks of cleaning without a single hair wrap.

The biggest quality-of-life change, though, is the intelligence. The Edge 2 has proper AI obstacle avoidance — it spots cables, shoes and the kids’ bits and pieces, slows down, and steers around them rather than through them. After years of tidying the floor before setting the robot off, letting it just get on with it feels like a small luxury. The FlexiArm side brush also extends out to sweep along skirting boards and into corners, so the edges genuinely get cleaned instead of being left as a dusty border.

    Mopping is the real revelation

This is where the generation gap is widest. The Q7+ dragged a damp pad around and I rinsed it afterwards. The Qrevo Edge 2 lifts its mops automatically the moment it senses carpet — so no more soggy rug edges — and on hard floors it scrubs properly. Best of all, the dock does the dirty work itself: it washes the mop pads in 80C hot water and self-cleans, so I’m no longer rinsing anything by hand. The kitchen tiles have looked properly clean since day one, not just streak-free.

The Edge 2 mid-clean, ideally under furniture or working an edge, or the app map on your phone.

Replace this box with your own photo.

The Edge 2 doing what the Q7+ never could — cleaning right under the units.

Q7+ vs Qrevo Edge 2 at a glance

Feature Roborock Q7+ (old) Roborock Qrevo Edge 2 (new)

    Suction 2,700 Pa 25,000 Pa

Obstacle avoidance None (LiDAR nav only) AI obstacle avoidance

    Profile / under-furniture Standard height Ultra-slim 3.14″ (retractable LiDAR)

Edge cleaning Fixed side brush FlexiArm extending side brush

Hair tangle Occasional wrap Zero-tangle system

Mopping Damp pad, manual rinse Scrubbing mops, auto-lift on carpet

    Dock Auto-empty bin only Auto-empty + 80C hot-water mop wash + self-clean

The verdict: the Q7+ did maybe sixty per cent of the job and left me to finish the rest. The Qrevo Edge 2 actually completes the job — under the furniture, along the edges, and with mopping that’s a genuine clean rather than a wipe. At 549.99 it wasn’t the cheapest option, but going from a good older robot to this one felt less like an upgrade and more like finally handing the whole chore over. Highly recommended if your own Roborock is due for retirement.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy new best friend
We have the entire downstairs tiles in light/white porcelain, it is a nightmare to keep on top of and one of my biggest regrets in tile choice – until now! I prefer to split the vacuum and mop cycles so that it focuses on the task rather than the combination but either way the job is still amazing!

After ordering I decided not to hoover/mop for the couple days it took to arrive. For the first day/and a half we ran the robot constantly, familiarising, trying all different modes etc. It was great to watch the water get clearer and clearer.

I read several reviews of this and other Roborock and eufy, this was on offer and I’m very happy, it’s been over a week of constant use and the device doesn’t smell, I bought spare mop heads so I can have multiples available / in the wash.

As an upgrade to our previous robot vacuum we couldn’t be happier with the Roborock. Flawless performance and coverage. We simply set it every night and wake up to clean floors every morning. The routine maintenance is super simple and effective. Strongly recommend as great value for the job done.

Consigliatissimo!
