Latest on M5 closure near Stroud and Quedgeley

The incident happened on the northbound carriageway between junctions 12 (Quedgeley) and 13 (Stroud) at around 4.05pm. A Gloucestershire Police spokesperson said: "Emergency services have been called to a report of a car on fire on the M5 northbound close to Junction 13. "The motorway has been closed in both directions between Junction 12 and Junction 13 following the report at 4.05pm this afternoon.

"Drivers are advised to find alternative routes."
