Erskine Bridge set to close next month as delay warning issued

The southbound carriageway will close completely from 8pm on Friday, August 7, until 6am on Monday, August 10, while essential repair work takes place. Amey, which is carrying out the work on behalf of Transport Scotland, said drivers should plan ahead and follow diversion routes. Motorway traffic travelling southbound will be diverted to A82 Great Western Road eastbound, joining the M8 at Junction 17 westbound on slip from West Graham St and continuing M8 to Junction 30 where diversion ends.

Non-motorway traffic travelling southbound will be diverted via the A82 Great Western Road eastbound to Crow Road, through the Clyde Tunnel onto Edminson Drive, Helen St, Paisley Rd W West Bound, Glasgow Rd, Old Sneddon St, St James' St, Greenock Rd, St James' Interchange following the A726 up to the interchange under A898 where diversion ends. Lane two on the northbound carriageway will also be closed during the works. Emergency service access will be maintained throughout the project in coordination with relevant authorities.

All traffic management will be removed by 6am on Monday, August 10, providing works are completed on schedule.
