I already have another Depstech endoscope with its own screen. It has proven to be extremely handy while working on cars and routing electrical cables through stud walls and ceilings. But, it comes in a large storage case, and it is not always convenient to have in the back of the car or toolbox. This one, though, is. It is so small that it can be kept in the glovebox or in a pocket or small drawer in the tool bag. You always have your phone with you these days, so being able to reach for the small camera and hook it up to your phone is very convenient. I use Android 16 on my phone, and unlike some, I had no problems with the app. I installed it from the Play store, accepted some permissions, and it detected the camera when inserted, and then followed what it says on the screen. It just worked for me.
It works almost as well as the larger model. It only lacks the directional control. Other than that, the quality of the camera feed on the app was superb. The brightness of the light didn’t was out the video feed either. I used a portable, suction Magsafe mount on the phone to secure it, and free up both hands to route the camera cable easily.
Another must-have for the toolbox, and sold for a great price too, making it excellent value for money.

J’ai utilis cette camra endoscopique pour vrifier des tuyaux et l’intrieur d’un moteur, et franchement la qualit d’image est impressionnante pour ce type d’outil. Le mode double objectif est trs utile, surtout pour voir les cts sans devoir tourner le cble dans tous les sens. Le cble de 5 mtres reste assez rigide pour avancer facilement dans les endroits difficiles, tout en gardant un peu de flexibilit. L’application fonctionne correctement et la connexion avec le tlphone se fait rapidement sur Android comme sur iPhone. Les LED clairent bien mme dans les zones totalement sombres. Le format compact est aussi pratique transporter dans une bote outils. Seul petit dfaut, l’application pourrait tre un peu plus fluide par moments, mais l’endoscope reste trs efficace et simple utiliser pour de l’inspection la maison ou au travail.

What to Note
– App Dependency: You have to use a specific app to view the feed. While the setup only takes a minute, it is an extra step every time you want to use the tool.
– Android Settings: For Android users, you must ensure that OTG (On-The-Go) is enabled in your phone settings, or the device will not be recognized.

Essential toolbox kit, especially if you are on a budge
This endoscope from well know brand DEPSTECH is another in it’s line up of endoscopic devices that are essential for driveway mechanics and small workshops. This offering connects directly to your smartphone rather than using its own screen, and this is a key cost reduction consideration. The device itself is essentially a camera on the end of a semi-rigid cable that allows the camera to be inserted into small spaces and positioned accurately to get a good look at your vehicles components. Although the quality of the output is governed largely by the quality of your smartphone screen, it works very well with modern Android and iOS devices (tested by me on both) and was relatively simple to use, especially with two people. The light is bright and illuminates a large area meaning that nothing is missed, and it’s waterproofing means that it can be used in all weather conditions. I also like the fact that it is small enough to keep in your vehicle and take up next to no space. I will live in my van and be a useful and versatile piece of kit.
Easy to Use and a Great Picture Quality!
I got this endoscope with the intention of using it for things like finding leaks, poking it in animal holes and generally just having a peek in hard to see places where I may have dropped something.
The device is amazingly simple to use and just involves scanning a QR code in the manual to download an app.
Once you have the app, you plug the endoscope into your phone and the app should automatically open!
The endoscope has 2 cameras on it a front camera right on the end of the wire and a side facing camera.
From the app you can change the colour to black and white, rotate the image 90 degrees, change the zoom, take photos or video and change which camera is being viewed.
The picture quality that my phone was receiving from the endoscope camera was really clear and had very little lag.
Even in total dark spaces the endoscopes light was bright enough to see clear images.
Being made from a sturdy, flexible wire, it made manoeuvrability of the endoscope very easy!
The endoscope comes with a hook and a magnet attachment.
The endoscope cable has a decent length of 16.5 feet which is about 5 meters.
I am not well versed in the world of endoscopes but for 39.99, I think this endoscope is worthy of the money!
Excellent image quality and genuinely useful for inspections
I bought this primarily for inspection work where access is limited, and it’s been extremely useful. The image quality is noticeably better than cheaper borescopes I’ve used in the past. The 2K resolution produces a clear, detailed picture, making it much easier to identify exactly what you’re looking at rather than trying to interpret a blurry image.
The dual-lens design is one of the strongest features. Being able to switch viewpoints without constantly repositioning the cable saves a surprising amount of time, particularly when inspecting behind appliances, inside cavities, pipework and other awkward spaces. The built-in lighting is bright enough for dark areas and can be adjusted easily depending on the environment.
The 16.5ft cable feels well balanced. It’s rigid enough to hold its position when feeding it through walls, ducting or under units, but still flexible enough to navigate around bends. Connection to a smartphone was straightforward and the app was easy to get up and running.
What impressed me most was how much clearer fault finding became. Instead of guessing what was causing an issue or dismantling large sections unnecessarily, I was often able to inspect the area first and make a much more informed decision about the next step.
Build quality is also very good. It feels like a proper tool rather than a cheap gadget, and everything from the camera housing to the cable feels designed for regular use.
Overall, this is an excellent inspection camera that delivers sharp images, reliable performance and enough flexibility for a wide range of applications. Whether you’re checking plumbing, vehicle components, ducting or hard-to-reach household areas, it does the job extremely well
Good quality image , great value , easy to use
2K endoscope /borescope camera with light from Depstech
This clever borescope consists of a 16.5 foot cable with a type C or lightning adapter connection to your smart phone, a 7.5mm lens 360 camera and 2K resolution.
There’s a dual lens with options of a hook or magnet attachments and photo or video recording direct to you phone through the app.
The cable is semi rigid and super long , very useful for investigating plumbing issues or finding things under the floorboards or decking – but so many other uses too. Have you ever dropped a spanner in your car engine , or an earring down a plug hole or behind a radiator ?
I particularly like that it can be used underwater and has an IP67 waterproof rating – although images can be less clear when it is under water or wet .
Adjustable brightness helps clarify the view or reduce reflections , there is a 2 x zoom and 90 rotation . It can be fiddly getting just the right angle as the cable is so long but visuals are generally clear and bright .
I do have a much larger borescope with bigger fixed screen for work but this is much more practical and portable .
A great value , multi useful bit of tech , easy to set up and use.
Really helps me with DIY jobs so far.
Been using this to install spotlights in the ceiling where i cant access the above floor.
Camera is good quality, can see everything on the screen.

Not sure about the 2560P quality claim but it's alrigh
First things first: I’m not sure it’s like more than VGA quality “upscaled” or something. See attached pictures
I’ve put 4 in:
3 of them are cylinders in a petrol engine which has been ingesting oil (your piston heads shouldn’t be that dirty) and one let me identify a bit of debris (the lighter blurrier one)
The other is the inside of my car’s intercooler.
It’s pretty good – I can see what’s going on – but even 1080p? I doubt it. The image size is 2560×1440 but I am 95% sure it’s “upscaled” at best.
I like that you can use the software (which wants no weird permissions) to control which camera you’re using, no weird button to faff with on the wire – a nice button in software.
I also like the basic rotation of image controls.
It does record video too which has been handy.
These do come in useful every now and then and are great when they do. This is as good as any.
I give it 4 stars only because quality is a bit of a stretch.
Also I’d have liked a cap for the lens – pushing it through stuff you get nervous about scratching it but there’s nothing you can do.

Great endoscope, excellent live video resolution and field of view, no lagging. The light works perfectly and I love that you can adjust the brightness, this is very important in many cases! I also love that the brightness dial is right there on the line for you, so I don’t have to go into app settings or fumble around with my phone to adjust. The wire is easy to maneuver once you get a feel for it and it will go anywhere! Also a huge plus, Depstech has THE BEST customer service as I have had to contact them about a previous product. This is a high quality well built product that works as expected. I’m impressed and would recommend to anyone looking for an endoscope cam. The price is very reasonable as well, a great value.
