I bought the Motuim Cordless & Corded Tyre Inflator Air Compressor because of its compact size, and it has proven to be an excellent addition to my car. It fits neatly in the boot without taking up much space, making it easy to keep on hand for emergencies or routine tyre maintenance. The build quality feels solid, and the bright orange colour also makes it easy to locate when needed.
One of the standout features is its inflation speed. Compared to other battery-powered pumps I’ve used, this unit is noticeably faster, which saves time when topping up tyres. I also appreciate the longer air hose, as my other compressor has a much shorter hose that can make reaching the valve and operating the pump a bit awkward. The extra length makes the process far more convenient and user-friendly.
The additional features are also very useful. The built-in LED light is handy for use in low-light conditions, while the power bank function adds extra versatility. Accuracy is another strong point. As a test, I set the compressor to inflate a tyre to 41 PSI and then checked it with my separate tyre gauge. The reading matched very closely and was well within any acceptable margin of error, giving me confidence that the digital gauge is reliable. Perhaps the only slight criticism is that in bright daylight it can be a little hard to see the display, but this won’t be the case for everyone, maybe only if your eyesight isn’t tip top.
Overall, this is a well-designed, practical inflator that offers excellent performance and convenience.
Fast and simple way to inflate tyres etc.
Fabulous little gadget for fast tyre inflation up to a maximum of 150PSI, so will cover almost all domestic situations requiring inflation. Pre set your inflation target and the unit will switch off automatically when it reaches the correct pressure. What a boon if you discover a car tyre needs inflating miles from the nearest garage, and bike tyres too. So easy to use and so small and compact to take with you anywhere. Given that I have tested this once and it worked fast and accurately I think it is a fair price to pay for something which could get you out of a lot of time costly trouble waiting for roadside service. or the money costly trouble of ending up driving on a deflated tyre and damaging a wheel. It most certainly makes redundant those old cumbersome foot pumps which wore you out to use. This is a great leap in technology to solve the age old problem of unexpected tyre deflation.
This cordless tyre inflator is so easy to clip onto and off the tyre valve and doesn’t seem to loose a large amount of air when you take it off.
Everything you need to inflate a tyre quickly to the psi you need is in this one little pump. It took me a matter of minutes to top up my tyres without having to stop and check the pressure, it’s all automatic and awesome!.
It is one of the more expensive models around and although it does feel heavy duty and durable it does what it says.
I’m addition to the pump section itt has a small torch and doubles as a power bank if your stuck with no power in your phone.
The various settings are easy to use and you can switch between what type of tyre you’re inflating, car, motorcycle, bicycle or ball it does them all and takes a lot of stress away. It all fits in it’s own little bag and is so easy to store because of its size.
I am extremely happy with this pump and recommend it.
Very good and well thought out inflator
Very nice cordless inflator, with corded option. The box is nicely branded and within you have the device, charging cable, 12v power cable, the usual array of adaptors and a black carry case.
I’ve owned a few of these over the years and this one feels heavy, well put together and quite premium. Power it up and you also have a torch, and the option to charge devices from the device itself via a USB out port.
The D pad allows you to change the setting between car, bike, motorcycle and ball. You can also dial up/down the pressure using the + or – buttons. You then press the power button to start.
You are then treated to a bit of a psychedelic light show as the tyre inflates. The right side of the device flashes in various colours and the effect is actually quite pleasing and turns a mundane thing into a bit of fun.
The device is noisy as it inflates, but no more than any other powered inflator I’ve used. Speed wise, cordless tools aren’t quite as fast as corded but the convenience is real and not having to run a cable to your cigarette port is a big bonus.
The battery capacity was more than enough to put 20PSI in 4x very big 19″ tyres with about 50% battery left.
As such I imagine it would just about inflate 4 smaller tyres completely before needing to connect to power.
This is the third cordless inflator I’ve used and this is the best built, fastest and most interesting by design. It needs to be good at the price point and it really is.
Very good bit of kit.
This portable air pump is so practical! The maximum pressure of 150PSI allows the car tires to be fully charged soon, and the digital display can check the tire pressure in real time, which is very accurate. The automatic shutdown function is very reassuring, and it will stop automatically when it reaches the set pressure, so you don’t have to worry about inflating the tire.
Not a bad cordless pump
A very handy cordless electric tyre inflator.
It comes in a nice little storage bag with a separate pressure hose that can be unscrewed if needed, for better storage.
The separate inflator kit for toys, footballs etc is a handy addition.
You can have 4 different pressure presets for various items such as bikes, cars and the like. You can scroll through the presets via the menu buttons on the front. There’s also a bright LED on the top is a good addition for night time use.
Inflation speed is reasonably fast. I used it to top up a slow puncture and it did a good job to bring up the pressure in less than 5 minutes. The coloured LEDs on the front are nice to look at but totally superfluous.
It doubles as a power bank for emergency charging of mobile phones and other devices, via a USB-A port. I used it to charge my almost-flat iPhone and it’s more than capable of supplying enough juice to get you going again. It’s a very handy piece of kit to have in your vehicle at all times!
Ok, why 4 stars you may ask? It’s because the real time pressure data has a significant lag which is less than ideal when inflating a tyre. It just means you have to be slow and steady when using it, or the pressure you want won’t be achieved. It’s not a major issue, just a little gripe that’s cost a star.
Good value for money
The Motuim wireless car inflator is definitely an essential emergency tool for self driving! The cordless charging design frees itself from the constraints of car power cords, with a compact and lightweight body that can be easily stored in the trunk and storage box without taking up space.
