4 hook stand
I’ve been trying to make my patio feel more homely — statues, artificial flowers, the whole lot — and when I saw this SEGNAYEN bird feeder hanging station, I knew it would look perfect out there with lanterns on it.
This stand is 188cm tall at full height, made from rustresistant metal, and it has a proper weighted base (2.79kg) with an elliptical shape, so it sits securely on patio slabs without needing to be pushed into soil. That was a big plus for me because my patio is all hard surface.
It was very easy to put together, and I like that the height can be adjusted — shorter or taller depending on what you want to hang. Once assembled, it stands really well. The wind hasn’t managed to knock it over yet (though it hasn’t faced a Northern Ireland winter, so we’ll see), but so far it’s been solid.
It looks great on the patio and adds a nice bit of height and interest to the space. I’m very happy with this.
Sturdy but pricey
Up to now, I’ve been using those poles you shove into the ground to hold up the birdfeeders. They take a bit of work to install and they do tend to bow over in time. This is a good alternative because, not only is it very easy to construct so you don’t mind testing it around, you can place it anywhere you like–even on concrete. The downside is that over 30 quid, it’s not cheap. However, it does have a properly weighted base that shouldn’t go over in a gale. You can have it at different heights but I don’t see the point of that because what bird wants a low hanging birdfeeder?
